Skiing holidays are good for your health

A study conducted by the University of Salzburg and the Christian Doppler Laboratory, on "Biomechanics in skiing" proves that skiing has a positive impact on physical and mental wellbeing. Irrespective of their physical prowess and skiing technique, skiers achieve the intensity of physical exertion that the World Health Organisation (WHO) defines as beneficial for fitness and health. Skiing has an especially positive impact on general wellbeing – the positive attitude increases significantly over the course of the day. Ski amadé has responded to this study with a special offer – the Ski Well package. Over two hours, the wellness coach and ski instructor show guests how they can benefit their health with the right skiing technique. The pulse monitor analyses calorie consumption, altitude covered, EPOC rate and changes in pulse rate. The ski school provides the pulse monitors and chest strap.
=> Price: 99 euros.
As part of this initiative the Gastein ski region is offering guests the ideal opportunity to prepare for a perfect skiing season. The Ski Well package here includes 3 nights' accommodation, a 3-day ski pass and a 2-hour private lesson with a ski instructor, a sports medicine examination, including a lactate test, a sports technique consultation and analysis, muscle function test, a radon thermal bath and entry to the Bad Hofgastein thermal spa.
